This is a region-free DVD-R without case or artwork.

In German with English subtitles.

Originally Das Madchen Rosemarie, this German "musical tragedy" has a lot in common with the Bertold Brecht/Kurt Weill theatrical pieces The Threepenny Opera and The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahoganny; in fact, the music heard throughout was taken from Weill's backlog. Austrian beauty contest winner Nadja Tiller plays the prostitute heroine, based on a real-life call girl whose predilection for blackmailing her high-profile customers ended with her mysterious death in 1957.

5 of 5 A look at Capitalism September 13, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Homestead, FL United States
A movie so well crafted that is awesome.  In it there are two boys who sing comments about what is happening in the plot, being this one a story of Rosemarie, a girl who tries to be at the top blackmailing powerful business business owners (capitalists) and she pays a high price for it.  Nadja Tiller is great as Rosemarie.  There is a remake, but I not even want to watch it, so good is this version.
