Description

This is a region-free DVD-R without case or artwork.

In Italian with English subtitles.

The original Italian title of this film is "II Giudizio Universale." An episodic spoof of human manners and foibles, this comedy by Vittorio de Sica begins in Naples when a disembodied voice announces to the city's residents "The Last Judgment will begin at 6:00 p.m." Naturally, not all are immediately willing to accept this statement -- but not for long. As comic vignettes unfold, the good citizens soon become even better as they try to undo past and present sins, just in case. The huge cast includes Vittorio Gassman, Fernandel, Akim Tamiroff, Melina Mercouri, Nino Manfredi, Lino Ventura, Alberto Sordi, Ernest Borgnine, Jimmy Durante, Jack Palance, and many others.

4 of 5 Flawed, but fascinating... July 29, 2018
Reviewer: Patrick Hunter from Panorama City, CA United States
This would be the first of many vehicles for international stars that Vittorio De Sica made in the sixties and it's the oddest.   The voice of God announcing from the Vatican that it's the day of judgement (at least, apparently, for Catholics).  The movie's fascinating premise devolves into some unfunny clownishness by the end, yet it's still charming.    A unique movie.
