Super great fast service. Fast personal attention if any  errors are made (which is rare). Fantastic selection. Just a great operation all around.

Unaware this film existed. Always liked this story.

Acting was superb. Cinematically well done.

I ordered a copy of this French film on eBay. Because it was from a source in the USA, I assumed it would be subtitled in English. It was not. I blame the seller for not informing me of that fact. Since I could understand very little of what I was watching, the DVD was virtually useless.

Movie Detective did have this film with English subtitles. I purchased it at a lower price than from eBay and it arrived promptly. The video and audio quality are quite good and I have my subtitles. I'm very pleased with the DVD.

This is my second purchase from Movie Detective. My previous one was also excellent and I'm certain I will place more orders from this very reliable dealer in the future.

Transaction went smoothly, excellent service as always.
Happy to have the film after years of searching for it, in very good picture quality at that.
Enjoyed the cast immensely, also the location shooting at the port of Marseilles.

5 of 5 The very entertaining Entertaining Mr. Sloane November 25, 2017
Reviewer: Patrick Hunter from Panorama City, CA United States
Stanley Kubrick claimed this was one of his favorite films; it isn't as brilliant in terms of its imagery, but its mordant humor is right down the  Swiftian sensibility that Kubrick and others love.  This is a superb transfer, with top-notch acting done all around.

4 of 5 A Higher Principle / WWII in Czechoslovakia November 10, 2017
Reviewer: Chris Kuykendall from Austin, TX United States
Anyone who seeks out World War II movies would find this interesting, as it speaks to the home front of not France, not Great Britain, not the United States, not Germany, etc., but one of the nations peripheral to the war, in this case a nation occupied by the Nazis.

I was reading reviews on the Internet Movie Database, and one reviewer said it was good despite being Communist-nation propagandized (i.e., Czechslovakia, post-war). Another reviewer challenged the characterization, and said it was nowhere propagandized. The second reviewer is correct.

A favourite from the 1960s:  Passer remains an intriguing figure in world cinema.
