The complex relationship of a brother and sister, and their mutual dependence. Signoret is excellent, Rochefort subtle, and Seyrig, as the catalyst for emotional change, delightful. A tale both heartwarming and melancholy.

It was like striking gold when I found Chere Inconnue on MovieDetective.net. I tried many other sites before succeeding in my quest.  I will use your site in the future, I am sure.  I am a devotee of art and international films and it is great to have a good vendor for them.  Thank you!!

Wow. Simone Signoret was one of the all time greats and here she is superb. Jean Rochefort and Delphine Seyrig are also excellent. The final shot of Simone is absolutely haunting.

5 of 5 Family is (or it should be) the best July 17, 2016
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Homestead, FL United States
In the plot two siblings, one of them crippled, are getting old and try to begin a new kind of life corresponding with somebody and they end corresponding with each other.   We have three formidable actors from the French cinema here:  Rochefort, Signoret & Seyrig.  The story is sweet, it ends well, and most important, shows what really is family love.  Nobody can be disappointed with this movie.

Intimist and gripping tale carried by the power of Simon Signoret and Jean Rochefort. I am glad moviedectective made this movie available, as I had never seen it before.

5 of 5 Nice condition dvd-r !! January 12, 2014

Don't hesitate to make your purchase, you'll be very pleased with the picture and sound as well as the quality of the subtitles.  If you're reading this you're already pre-sold on the movie itself (Signoret and Rochefort co-starring?  How could it be bad?), so be aware you don't need to worry about the quality of presentation.  Enjoy.

5 of 5 Outstanding DVD June 9, 2013

Beautiful print of French film I SENT A LETTER TO MY LOVE. Because I'd never seen it available on DVD, I assumed it would just be a copy of the VHS tape but it's much sharper with removable subtitles. Great purchase!
