Thank you for the excellent transaction. Very quick delivery on a great French noir, nice clear picture quality on an obscure film that was very hard to come by.

Another winner.

Signoret at her devilish best, again partnered by the excellent Bernard Blier and Jane Marken as the "mother from hell", including that insane laugh. A film not easy to forget, even if you want to.
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it really IS depressing, which a good noir should be, I suppose. And this one is a doozey.

Maneges [1950] Yves Allegret

A superb companion piece to "Une Si Jolie Petite Plage". Interestingly told with a sophisticated flashback structure. Superb performances from the three main players. The lack of sentimentality is bracing and the ending left me agog. Highly recommended in this good transfer of a restored version. Good English subtitles.
