All valuable little vignettes taken from Giuseppe Marotta's writings on the Neapolitan character, with De Sica at the helm as director, co-screenwriter, and actor in one of the episodes. If there is one out of sorts segment here, it would be the funeral procession, which is still interesting for its strategies of proper mourning. Have the actors Loren, Toto, De Sica, Mangano, and De Filippo ever presented themselves better? I'll be looking to answer that, as I'm new to Italian cinema, the talent of which is impressing me to no end. What a joy to binge-watch these masters of the art, and the supporting actors who are no less superb - kudos to De Sica.

A great picture again from De Sica. All performances are top notch. The original long version in a great print.
A surprisingly anonymous De Sica movie.
Thanks M D for making it availible.
