Description

This is a region-free 2 DVD-R set without case or artwork. In Italian with English subtitles. Note: This is the complete 224-minute cut, and is presented on two DVD's.

Based on an autobiographical novel by Carlo Levi, Cristo si e fermato a Eboli stars Gian-Maria Volonte as Levi, a prominent anti-fascist author and artist who, during Mussolini's regime was exiled to Eboli, a tiny village in Southern Italy. The government believed Levi's controversial views would fall on deaf ears, but as he spent time in the small pastoral community, the simple wisdom of the peasants came to have a profound impact on Levi, and his beliefs would also impact the people of Eboli.

Worthwhile for the fans January 18, 2017

This is the only uncut version of the four part TV mini-series available.  Its visual quality seems like its a VHS transfer, but at least it's the complete version, unlike the U.S. releases, of what is a wise and gentle dramatization of Levi's memoir.

Reviewer: ron delves from LONDON, LONDON England
A magnificent film- and so glad to have the full version!
A few audio/ visual imperfections but, considering this is a TV transfer, it is eminently watchable. Arrived today so no complaint about the delivery time.
Your so far fine record is untarnished.
