Amici per la Pelle is largely told from a child's-eye point of view. The heroes of the piece are Mario (Geronimo Meynier) and Franco (Andrea Seire), young classmates and inseparable friends. One is an extrovert with a happy home; the other is an introvert who moves from hotel to hotel with his father. After several "Our Gang"-style adventures, the boys' friendship is threatened when Mario reveals a secret that Franco confided in him...

Amica per la Pelle deserved its many awards. It's rich in feeling. Also, it's well-paced and all characters are engaging. This is an endearing, perceptive film about youthful friendship. For a change, the parents aren't buffoons. A warm, humane film, which delights in the high spirits of its young characters. Highly enjoyable. The DVD is of excellent quality.
