The DVD that I recently purchased was of good quality and reasonably priced. As a little boy I had viewed this movie when it was first released into the U.S. Watching it again after 60 years brought back memories and made me realize what a great movie it really was!

4 of 5 #2 film Tragica Notte 5 stars June 6, 2020
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Fleetwood, PA United States
The foundation film for the American film Midway. An historically interesting film loaded with many of the top Toho studio actors(unfortunately the lead actor is not one of them) and containg some nice ground breaking special effects.A rather shallow film though with none of the enemy in evidence, and lacking the more in depth characterizations of the Midway film.                                                                                  #2 Tragica Notte What a marvelous director Mario Soldati is!He takes the `old saw` used by Shakespeare and others on down the line, about one man lying to another whom he hates about another man's involvement with the hated man's wife, and creates a minor masterpiece. The ou-tr`e mother character in this one is as outrageously humorous as the mother in the film Malombra. The male lead in both this film and Malombra is an exceptional actor playing a completely different character in each film.

This issue met my expectations, at times surpassed them.  I concur with previous reviews as to acting and  direction.  Even miniature props were very acceptable. Also, the quality of the DVD was much beyond my expectations.  A very worthwhile addition to my WWII collection.
