In part one,
Caccia all'Uomo, Jean Valjean (
Gino Cervi), pursued through the years for a minor infraction by the implacable policeman Javert (Hans Hinrich), attempts to create a life for himself and for his adopted daughter Cosette amid the revolutionary struggles of France. In part two,
Tempesta su Parigi, Valjean has established a good life for himself and his daughter, but Javert continues his dogged pursuit, leading to an inevitable final confrontation.
