Kroll (Michel Constantin), is an adventurer who made a fortune digging up priceless artefacts in Asia with two partners. When one of the partners is killed, Kroll decides to pay his respects at the man's grave in Corsica. He is invited to a mysterious mansion by an other friend, where he meets the beautiful Hèléne, who seems terrified of her surroundings. Kroll decides to liberate her, and the two go on the run, pursued by the mansion's various occupants...
