Description

This is a region-free DVD+R without case or artwork.

In French with English subtitles. Widescreen. Also known as Don't Tempt the Devil.
In a biting, critical look at "justice" and how it does not necessarily work, director Christian-Jaque develops this tale of murder and deception via two principle, conniving characters and their upright opponents in the legal system. Catherine (Marina Vlady) is a heartless, self-serving woman miffed at her spouse's infidelity. She then renews an amorous relationship with a sharp and unscrupulous lawyer when she is suspected of murdering her husband by lethal injection.

A satiric film in which a devilish woman,Marina Vlady, murders her husband rather than divorce him,and frames Virna Lisi for the murder.Vlady's boyfriend Pierre Brasseur is the prosecuting attorney for the civil claimant,Marina Vlady, and her defense attorney as well,in case she should be charged with the murder. He acts as Vlady's accomplice and uses every trick he knows for swaying magistrates, discrediting witnesses, and influencing jurors in order to get Virna Lisi indicted and convi cted keep Marina Vlady free.At the finale Bourvil delivers an unsuccessful appeal for justice to the jurors.Marina Vlady immediately leaves Brasseur for another man.Brasseue decides to aid justice and provide Virna Lisi's attorney with information that will have Lisi's appeal granted and Vlady indicted.

I like it, as all Christian-Jacques's films that I seen.  The story is good with an ending twist, and all the acting is good, mainly sweet Marina Vlady as a bad woman
