A veritable international all-star cast brings this story of a massive traffic jam outside of Rome to life. Stuck in the worst traffic jam in Italian history, a cross-section of Italian society interact in a series of vignettes over the course of 36 hours, and we get a glimpse into the lives - and machinations - of the people we meet. The cast includes Alberto Sordi, Annie Girardot, Fernando Rey, Patrick Dewaere, Ángela Molina, Marcello Mastroianni, Stefania Sandrelli, Ugo Tognazzi, Miou-Miou, and Gérard Depardieu.

Ever wonder who was in the next car?
If you like stories, the more the better, then this is a rich pleasure, though, I was more than bothered by a rape scene, my watching in helpless frustration as four onlookers, fully capable of stopping it, were more interested that their own nefarious secrets be kept absolutely hidden. As unsparing as that scene is, there is so much more here, a smorgasbord of micro soap opera gems.
