The story is adapted from a novel by Ercole Patti, which details the hypocritical patriarch of a large Sicilian family who preaches the virtues of self control, while in reality he and his clan engage in debauchery, gluttony, and greed. Things get a bit more complicated when a young man in the family falls in love with his aunt (
